Older home in Burnaby over-looking Richmond on a steep slope.
To lessen the slope and raise the height of the front garden beds so that the home-owner whom is over 60 can still plant her flowers. This is her second home garden renovation we've had the pleasure of creating for her.
We pulled up her newly planted Begonias, potted them up and set them aside. Weeded the bed and pruned back the existing plant material. Pulled out the over-grown Mucho Pine and Golden Threadleaf False Cypress. Excavated the base for the wall. Built the retaining wall of Roman Pisa Curved Retaining Wall - Colour - Harvest Blend. We backfilled with new fresh Garden Blend Soil, re-planted her Begonias. Added Composted Bark Mulch to suppress the weeds for awhile.
